About Me
My name is Kayla Barbera. I am a San Jose State graduate with two personal horses of my own and a main focus on barrel racing. My love of riding and working with horses sparked at a young age. I started out learning and competing in English and jumping. Over my 20+ years of experience under several different trainers, I have gained knowledge of many disciplines. From western pleasure, hunter jumping, barrel racing, and cutting; I have well rounded knowledge and a versatile teaching style. I take pride in being able to teach horse lovers how to become confident and progressive riders in order to improve their skills and achieve their goals. Contact me for lessons and/or training!
Our Facility
Horse Hacienda is a private boarding facility nestled in the Texas Hill Country in Bandera. The ranch features acres of riding, including an arena, a covered round pen, wash racks, and various stalls, corrals and pastures.

An amazing place! Patient and friendly trainers, beautiful facilities, horses and stalls that are well-cared for and clearly loved. My 4.5 year old attends 45 minute pony rides weekly with Kayla, and we’ve had the pleasure of meeting the owners, other trainer and several boarders/horse owners. My daughter’s questions are always answered, she’s learning and she’s having a ton of fun. We both look forward to our days at Blue Banner SO much. Must go!

Highly recommend! I returned to riding as an adult and I’ve been so pleased with my experience. Kayla is skilled, knowledgeable, and always professional. She is an incredibly patient teacher, clearly explaining riding concepts and answering questions (I have a lot!). She also has a good eye for finding prospect horses for riders ready to purchase. She found my gelding and went the extra mile to lend her expertise during the purchasing process and beyond. I’ve learned so much during my 2 years with Kayla. My daughter has been coming here almost a year and she really enjoys it! Her instructor Kayla is very knowledgeable and has taught her a lot! They teach you how to groom and tack up your horse as well. Great stable for lessons!

Brought my kids to this stable for lessons and they had the best time! The instructor was patient, they had a wide variety of horses to choose from and explained the entire process of grooming a horse all the way to riding. We can't waIt to go back! Also, the owners greeted us and are extremely friendly and hands on. We'd definitely be going back!!
